Champion Modular Construction Solves Site Labor Issues for Multi-Family Development in the Bakken

Champion designed, built and delivered 16 modules to Watford City, North Dakota which were assembled on site to provide four 4-unit, 2-story townhomes. Each living unit offers two bedrooms and 1 ½ baths. Due to the vast need for housing in the Bakken area, speed was a major project requirement. These units were installed, completed and certified for occupancy in just 47 days.

Champion modular building process was selected to provide:
  • Four 4-unit, 2-story townhome buildings
  • Sixteen modules - 18,848 square feet
Lack of available labor in the North Dakota market and a shortened building season made site building virtually impossible.

Champion teamed with modular provider Black Diamond to design, construct, deliver, and install quality living facilities for the energy services industry, thus minimizing the need for site labor. The modules were delivered to the site in an advanced level of completion with interior finishes, cabinetry and fixtures in place. The porches and decks were constructed on site to provide the finished product.

“Champion Home Builders provided us with a townhome product exactly as we had envisioned at a cost much less than a conventional build-out. Their team was very knowledgeable and helped us throughout the entire process to ensure a successful project.”
