Modular Housing Brings Renewed Sense of Community to Neighborhood
Champion Home Builders of Indiana modular building system enabled the rapid completion of 12 duplexes (24 units) from start to finish in only 4 1/2 months for the entire project. Using modular construction allowed the owner to move tenants in only 3 months after construction began. PROJECT SCOPE
- Twelve duplexes (24 units)
- 34,560 total sq. ft.
Each module had to be lifted by a crane and lowered onto either a basement foundation or a first floor module on narrow lots between adjacent existing homes.
The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) EBE participation requirements needed to be satisfied, along with the wisconsin Green Built Homes Initiative. SOLUTION
Champion's experienced set-up crew was crucial in maneuvering the modules into the tight lots. Professional design and engineering staffs ensured satisfaction of the Green requirements. Local craftsmen completed on-site work to meet local EBE requirements.
